Our paths crossed at Decorating Mart, where we learned that the four of us made an awesome team. After working for others, we decided we needed to be working for ourselves and bringing back Style. In an effort to do for the design business what Starbuck’s has done for coffee, Project Style was created at Kathy’s kitchen table. We have so much fun that what we do can’t be called work! Read on to learn how we came to be…..

Kathy Phillips

small-kp A native of the Windy City, Kathy, graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  Her passion for interior design came as a result of a sewing hobby.  When she left the business world to stay home with her small children, she began designing & fabricating window treatments for friends and family.  As she expanded her design services, another career was born, Grande Design.  She also gained design knowledge by working for several major furniture retailers. Her years in business helped create strong people and organizational skills, an important asset in managing the many aspects of design.  Kathy’s zest for life carries over in her approach to every design project.

Passions: gardening, hiking, camping, bird watching, playing soccer, 3 children – one of which has paws & a tail, white chocolate, Mr. Fix-It, and red wine.

Marni McCulloch

small-mmc Georgia born and raised, Marni attended Clayton State College where she majored in Accounting.  As a young mom and homemaker, Marni began designing and sewing for her home.  One thing led to another and her interest in design led her to work at Decorating Mart.   At the same time, she earned a certification in Interior Design.  Marni also worked in a professional drapery workroom where she learned the craft from the inside out.   Her strong attention to detail made Marni a natural for managing the custom Design Center at Decorating Mart.

Passions:  Mike, Maggie, Belle the labradoodle, Magic the horse, Mexican food, classic cars, NCIS, frogs, Georgia Bulldogs, paisley and pom-pom fringe

Tina White

small-tw A native of Cobb County, Tina married her high school sweetheart.  Like her partners, Tina’s early careers were in the business and corporate arena.  However, her love for designing and fabricating window treatments led her to establish her own workroom.   A graduate of the Sheffield School of Interior Design, her window treatment business led her to a career as a full service interior designer. Later, she joined Decorating Mart as a designer.  Tina’s excellent sense of style brings a unique flair to every project.

Passions:  Tim, Baby Doll, gardening, birding, her boys, black & white, crystal, Christmas, college football and NASCAR


Joanne Bailey

small-jb A California girl, Joanne attended Cal State Northridge, while working in the drapery department at Sears.   Shortly thereafter,  Joanne began working at J.C. Penney as an interior designer consulting with clients in their homes.  After relocating to Georgia, Joanne’s love of the window treatment business led her to work at Decorating Mart in the custom Design Center.  She also worked in a custom drapery workroom where she learned the art of fabrication.   Joanne’s down-to-earth & hands-on approach to design makes people immediately feel comfortable.

Passions:  Old movies & leading men, mutts, coffee, turtles, Marines & Coasties, DB, AB & GB, designing jewelry, rock & roll, and dark chocolate-covered anything
